Massage Institute of Maryland, Inc.
Transfer Students to the
Massage Institute of Maryland's 500 Hour Program

transfer students Students who graduated from an out-of-state school that is not nationally accredited by an agency that is accepted by the Maryland Chiropractic Board may not be allowed to receive a Maryland License.

These students may wish to have "MIM" review their transcripts to be considered as a Transfer Student to the Massage Institute of Maryland (MIM). Previous credits may give them an advanced standing in our 500 Hour Professional Massage Therapy and BodyWork Training Program.

transfer students Other students who did not complete their previous training may be allowed to apply as a transfer student after completing an "MIM" Application and a review of their previous transcripts.

transfer students Transfer students must apply to MIM before their previous transcripts will be reviewed for possible admission to the 500 Hour Program.

transfer students An applicant must have certified copies of transcripts sent directly to the Board from the schools that the applicant attended and they must document completion of at least 500 classroom hours in a massage therapy education from a program that is:
1. Approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) or by the higher education commission or comparable authority of the state or country in which the applicant's school is located.
2. Accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) or approved or accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.

transfer students If you do not have transcripts from a program that meets the criteria that you need to become credentialled in Maryland, you may able to transfer your training to the Massage Institute of Maryland. Completing our graduation requirements will meet this criteria.
